Meet the New Members of the Events Working Group

The new appointments bring together decades of experience from both professional careers and the netball community.

Jan Johnson joins as a Competition Manager, bringing more than 20 years of experience in competition management and event delivery. A former Director of Competitions for Netball South and an experienced International Technical Official, Jan has officiated at some of the sport's biggest events, including the Netball World Cup, Commonwealth Games and Netball Youth World Cup. Alongside her extensive volunteer experience, she recently retired after a 41-year career as a Senior Systems Lead at Bank of America, where she developed exceptional operational and organisational expertise.

Also joining as a Competition Manager, Sarah Jackson offers over 20 years of senior operational leadership experience alongside an impressive netball background. As Co-Founder and Operations Director of Premier Financial Management Ltd, Sarah has led complex operational projects, policy development and stakeholder management. Within netball, she has officiated at the Commonwealth Games and Netball Youth World Cup, while also co-founding Marlow Netball Club, coaching and umpiring.

Joining the team as Logistics Manager, Dawn Williamson combines extensive experience leading complex programmes within the UK Civil Service with a strong background in performance netball. Alongside her professional expertise in project delivery, stakeholder engagement and operational planning, Dawn coaches within the Wiltshire County and London Pulse pathways and serves on the Netball South Regional Board, having also supported the organisation of officials and competitions across the region.

Completing the new appointments is Eilidh Duncan, who joins as Logistics Manager. Eilidh recently supported Europe Netball's Under-19 event in Aberdeen as a volunteer and has extensive experience through roles with Netball Scotland, Active Schools and major sporting events, including volunteering at both the Glasgow 2014 and Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. Her practical event delivery experience will be a valuable addition to the team.

Strengthening International Event Delivery

The appointments further strengthen Europe Netball's commitment to delivering outstanding competitions and events for its Member Countries.

The Events Working Group plays a vital role in planning and delivering Europe Netball competitions throughout the year, working closely with host nations, officials, volunteers and stakeholders to provide positive experiences for athletes and teams across the region.

Europe Netball would like to warmly welcome Jan, Sarah, Dawn and Eilidh to the organisation and thank all applicants who expressed an interest in joining the Events Working Group.

We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make as Europe Netball continues to grow the game and deliver exceptional international events across Europe.
